I have had the starter rebuilt, put on new cables, and the starter will not turn. I had the starter checked again and it ran fine.I switched my ground cable to another spot and it will still not turn. The battery is good, what am I doing wrong?

I have had problems with the starter ROD and pivot that presses onto the starter switch button on the starter.. Get under it ( after ya KNOW it is OUT of gear) and either press the starter button ( if ya can push it hard enough), or wrap a piece of baling wire around the part of the lever that pushes onto the starter button (be SURE it is not going to short on anything)...try that, and I bet it starts..!!

Can you put the ground to one of the bolts that hold the starter on, if so that would help. I don't know a lot about that set up, but if it has a soliniod that could also be the problem. But if its just a switch type that could also be what is bad. Just a couple of guess that may help

My guess is the cables. Don't know much about the JD's, except driving them, but I can't get bump out of any starter without really good connections.
