I have a 1955 ford 900 with a one arm bandit on it the problem I'm having is that the hydraulics are slow up and down even with weight on them. Both still work ok but at a snails pace. This just started suddenly.I know the problem has got to be in the pump, but what? Any info would be great.

Put the truck in a heated shop overnight then try the hydaulics, if they work normal then you somehow got water into your system (thru condensation or a bad seal) and it has frozen. open it up at the lowest point and drain all the water out. This happened to me with my snowplow.

I have found that if the suction side of your hydraulic system is sucking in air somewhere it makes the water really accumulate in there. I guess it is the moisture in the air that is being sucked in.

Nothing whatever to do with the topic, but I enjoy clever or punny handles. "Tom Dually" is a doozy. Thanks for a good laugh!

Assuming yours is a piston pump, there are six pistons with springs in that pump. Possibly some of the springs are broken, will cause the pump to pump slow. That shouldn't have anything to do with it lowering slow, however. What do you have for a valve for the loader? Your valve may have a single action mode you are not using. Might be lever got bent or worn enough to not let the spool open enough to let loader down quickly. I have a one arm 722 and when it is cold, it is slow as molasses, but when the oil warms up, it ain't half bad.

About the only thing that can slow them down is a clog in the system some where, sucktion hose them is sucking in etc.
