Does the 830 have live PTO ? I have found one that looks like it is in really good condition with a loader for $6700.00.. the price includes a 5 foot woods cutter and hay fork. Is that price fair?

Kenney:
If this is the 3 cyl diesel.Yes I have one. it is a 1975 Mod Bought new in the spring of 1977. It is the bigest little tractor you will ever find. I have 16.9 24 rear tires on mine with an extra set of older rear weights. It also has the 143 loader on it.This tractor has close to 7000 hrs on it and has never been overhauled. I pull a JD7000 6 row Dry fertilizer planter, a 6 row danish tang cultivator, a JD1219 Hay conditioner , a JD14T baler and an 18" Owattona feed mill. It does have live PTO by the use of a 2 stage foot clutch. Half way down stops the ground speed and all the way stops everything. If it has the 143 loader on it the bucket cyl will be your weakest point. I bent mine several times and repaced the single cyl with 2 smaller diameter cyls with larger shafts.

I had a 1974 or 75 J.D. 830 and sold it last year for $6,800. It was original in very good condition with power steering. It however used about one quart of oil about every fifty hours under light use. Mine had "live" P.T.O. Equipment included was-- Flip scoop--Bushog--Landscape box and factory service manual. I paid $5,000 for the 830, two years ago, from a J.D. dealer with no equipment. When I sold the tractor is was in much better shape then when I bought it.-- Hope this helps--

Thanks..... ....the guy that has this tractor has this tractor looking good..... he has repainted it, new decals and a new jd emblem on the front. New alt. , muffler and 2 new hyd. cylinders on the loader. It doesn't smoke and after 2 days on the carport....no leaks!

I haven't found any tractors for this same price that seem to be in this good of condition... I am just concerned about buying a 74 model tractor..
