I have several large piles of mesquite brush I want to run through a Shredder/chipper/mulcher. What kind of problems am I going to have if I simply run it out on the ground and then spread it around and disk into the soil?

Very little if any problems. You will have a nitrogen depletion causing your grass to not grow as well as other spots. All so if you put it down to thick you may have a problem with ants or termites wanting to use it as a home. But this is just part of the natural decomposing process.
I often have the power company dump loads of chips in my yard for use in the garden. Yes it takes a few years and some extra fertlizer but it works wonders on aerating hard compacted clay soil that we have.

I can't imagine what problem that would cause. It's all natural stuff. But then, me and Unimog are up in New England where trees are taking over the fields.

I do that all the time with no problems. It just
rots and add humus to the soil. It may use up
some of the nitrogen in that area in the decomp
process, but I have only had positive results.
