Chem Tool brand carburetor cleaner is the finest thing money can buy. You can get it in spray or pints. Get it at your auto parts store; white can with red lable. I usually use several applications of the spray

Keep off hands; it dries them out big time.....because it degreases and devarnishes carburetors. Also keep away from paint..... it is an excellent paint remover (new or old).

Don't be shy with the compressed air when finishing up and if you can get any of the brass orfices out to clean behind them that will help too.

Get some Toluene, aka Toluol. Soak the carb in it. Rinse the tank with it. Then run with a little added to the gas. You can get it at paint stores, and maybe hardware or auto parts stores. DO NOT breathe the fumes, or spill it on your skin. It's bad for you.

Vinegar works well for rust but not for cleaning carbs, you need some thing like CHEM-DIP or some other good carb cleaner
