Hi, I am considering this purchase. The transmission is bad and it needs two rims and tires all around. The owner is not sure if it is 4 wheel drive or not, how would I know this? Do the two wheel drives have only 6 lugs on the front hubs and the 4WD 8lugs? I am guessing the the clutch is bad as everyone I have spoken to believes that the transmission is bullet-proof. Also, any place to get used parts for this tractor? I appreciate any advice! Thanks, Noel Smith Morrow, Ohio

If it is 2 wheel drive it will have a straight front axle with no large 'bulges' for the differential among many other things (such as no obvious power source going to the front end, 16" front tires, etc). Plenty of transmissions out there, no sure what you would have to pay for one but plent to choose from, clutch will run about from a low of the high $200's to mid $400's to get a top notch rebuild and the going rate here to put a clutch in a 2wd, no cab is $175. Not sure the size of the rear tires but I got a set of 38's put on, on site with fluid put in for $750 and bought a new front for $112 installed. Rims would run from a low of $50 for the fronts up to the mid $100's on the rear (once again 2wd). Figure on towards $2000 assuming the transmission is ok. Price better be mighty right, I bought one in good shape for under $8000 that was a 91 with 3000 hours.
