From my Dad
Grins from FLA

Here are some comments made by sports Commentators that I'm sure they would like to take back:

1. Weightlifting commentator at the Olympic Snatch and Jerk Event:
"This is Gregoriava from Bulgaria. I saw her snatch this morning during her warm up and it was amazing."

2. Ted Walsh - Horse Racing Commentator: "This is really a lovely horse and I speak from personal experience since I once mounted her mother."

3. Grand Prix Race Announcer:
"The lead car is absolutely, truly unique, except for the one behind it which is exactly identical to the one in front of the similar one in
back." 4. Greg Norman, Pro Golfer:
"I owe a lot to my parents, especially my mother and father."

5. Ringside Boxing Analyst:
"Sure there have been injuries and even some deaths in boxing - but none of them really that serious."

6. Baseball announcer:
"If history repeats itself, I should think we can expect the same thing again."

7. Basketball analyst:
"He dribbles a lot and the opposition doesn't like it. In fact you can see it all over their faces."

8. At a trophy ceremony BBC TV Boat Race 1988:
"Ah, isn't that nice, the wife of the Cambridge president is hugging the cox of the Oxford crew."

9. Metro Radio, College Football:
"Julian Dicks is everywhere. It's like they've got eleven Dicks on the field."

10. US Open TV Commentator:
"One of the reasons Arnie Palmer is playing so well is that, before each final round, his wife takes out his balls and kisses them. Oh my God, what have I just said!"

Sorry to be a jerk, but as a matter of clarification there is no "clean and snatch" event. There is the "snatch" - lifting the weight over the head in one swift motion - and there is the "clean and jerk" - lifting the weight to shoulder height in one swift motion (the clean) followed by lifting the head from shoulder height to overhead (the jerk).

Howdy Dave!
How are those RED & YELLOW tractors coming along? Looks as if you have been getting some colder than avg. weather just recently.

I spoke with my Grandma there in St. Marys and she said the economics of the area continue to worsen. I will be out there this summer to see her. Tried to get her to come to FL for a winter break but she declined. Said it was to hot even in the winter. When I get out there I will try to give you a shout. Maybe a piece of pie and coffee over in Harrison!

I'm SSW of St. Maries, about 8 miles the way the crowflies, 23 miles by road. Thompson Falls is a nice area too.

Hey Bill -
I think Dave is in the St. Maries/Harrison area just south of C'dA. I am sure he will answer back.

Reason for my response is this -
Do they still hold the Thompson Falls Rodeo each fall? I heard Dick King? (owner) has since passed. As a boy and young man that used to be the highlight of my summer. We would go over and camp out the week prior to the weekend events.

Only once did I get up to the Calgary Stampede. For another good show the one in Okanogan was pretty wild (heard that one got cancelled though due to political correctness).

Sandpoint, ID had a pretty fair PRCA rodeo and I think in Oct. they still have the Draft Horse show.

Sure do miss the good rodeos, here in the SE they are pretty dismal.

Thanks for the memories
