I am looking at a IH Farmall McCormack Cub.Trying to decide wheather to buy or not.Asking price is 1,700..all sheetmetal excellent, no rust , no dents, grill excellent (if original) has belly mower, blade, plows and planter all say IH.
I know nothing of tese tractors. It runs ok, smokes, 4 cyl. gaso., tires need replaced.
I am wanting it to restore and take to county fairs and shows. Just a toy. I own and work a MF-65 1963.
I need feedback ASAP. Have digital photos to send. Thanks for your help.

Speaking of Cubs, afew days ago there was a picture of one that this fellew had put a tricycle front end on. Don't remember what forum it was on. If anyone can tell me where it was, would appreciate it. Thanks.

That's cheap for a Cub. I'm no Cub fan, but in my part of the world, a running Cub, in good shape, would go for more than that. Add in the implements and the price keeps going up. Cub attachments are almost always Cub-specific, and good ones are getting harder to find.
Just my opinion.

Price is great if you dont want it and i would be glad to drive down from IOWA and get it. Some places the imps would bring that much and they arent making them anymore. You arent doing this for a money maker and will have fun showing never know how much someone mite offer for the whole bit sometime.

I would post your question on the Farmall Board, you'll get a lot of good input there. My own opinion is its too high, but then I'm a big cheap skate and not a very big fan of the Cub. I do know that they can go MUCH HIGHER especially with the mower. Lots of collecters like these because they are small enough to fit in any garage or even large garden shed. I've never seen one go for less then $2500 with good tires and paint (paint is cheap, tires are not).

Here in Wisconsin any style Cub would go for $2000 in any condition if it runs and has a mower. More if it is in good condition and with more implements. I've seen them go in the $3000 and up range and know of one with a mower and snow blade that is repainted and they are asking over $4000.

What year & serial #? If the tires and smoke were not a problem I think it would be a good buy. Depends a lot on area it's located. You'll have to spend some $ and time to get rid of the two problems. Take that into consideration.
Others may have a different view.

Too much $$ for a cub, even with the extra stuff. $1000 would be a big price unless it had a fresh OH and new paint/rubber.
