Got a message today on some items I want to sell and they are bulky parts and in the email he said he was from switzerland. I find it hard to beleive someone would want to ship bulky parts that far!! Looking at items for sale places I see the ad's reading CASH ONLY SORRY SCAMERS! I think that is a good deal!!
Too bad 99999.9999% of us have to suffer for a very few's ignorance and laziness

I even get scammers when i state in the ad NO SCAMMERS. Last one was from some guy who supposidly owns a vintage car dealership in Europe, wanted my rusty old 400. If these scammers would learn to use spell check and do some research on what their "buying" they might stand a chance.

They don't think all farmers are dumb. They just try it with any one - especially if a high return is posssible - and hope they find the odd 1% or 0.1% or even 0.01% who fall for it. Cost them nothing, unless they get caught, and might make them a LOT of money if they can find a sucker.

Not just us farmers! Threy're after other segments of the selling population too. Last one I heard of was a bass tournament professional, selling his bass boat so's he could buy a new one. So don't feel picked on! Like the guy said, there's a sucker born every minuute! Just be sure he wasn't talking about YOU!!! These scams are pretty easy to spot. If it seems too good to be true, it probably is. Offering too much money, cashier's check, send excess money to another, second party shipping, shipping items where shipping would be cost prohibitive, poor communication skills, emails through an operator, most any overseas sales. All RED FLAGS!!

Yeah cash only and 'will not ship' pick up or they make their own arrangements with a shipping company. May still get some funny bills but last I heard US Secret Service still takes a dim view of counterfeiting.

I posted a couple of ads yesterday and got a call last night from an AT&T internet operator. She indicated that someone overseas was trying to contact me, the end result was that he said he had just e-mailed me.

I logged on and found a message from a "Pharell Lakers" stating he was a businessman who deals with tractors "of so many kinds". He claimed to help his clients in the U.S. do their buying and asked if I would take a cashier's check.

In addition to the bad english, the question on the cashier's check (I wonder how much he wanted me to wire back), he failed to modify the last paragraph as it talked about cars rather than tractors.

I tried to e-mail him back to get lost, but his mailbox was full. I guess that there are still people that fall for this.
