Go to a pay phone (it eliminates caller ID) and dial the number. I think 1-800 will not get England. A country code is required. When/if someone answers, ask if it's are (XYZ) Co. and if not what co. have you reached? Is it the guy who called you? Tell him you want cash. It could also be a private 800 number.Used to have one a couple of years ago and used it to call home when traveling. The applications were available at truck stops.

A woman here in Pittsburgh is many bucks poorer because she fell for that scam. She took the check to the bank, the bank cashed it, she sent the item, paid for the shipping, and sent her check back for the balance! UH-OH! $2700 flew away! The scammers stopped payment on the check that they sent to her, her bank found out it wasn't any good in the first place, then debited her account for all of the money. And now, the scammers have her check numbers and her account numbers, her signature, and they're off to the races! BEWARE: IF IT SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE---IT USUALLY IS!!! Rusty Jones

Click back a page to Page 2, scroll about halfway down, and click on "Life Threatened".

Does any of this sound like your situation?
