I am looking for a wide front assembly for my 1951
John Deere B It would have to contain the pedistal. I would prefer the round but would take a square. I have seen shwartz front ends on some JD's but do not know if there is one for the B for that year. Any information will be appretiated. Thank You Craig

Craig,

The correct "factory" wide front for your tractor will be a round cast iron assembly. The casting # on the round cast center would be B2690R. Do you have a split front pedestal? If so, the wide front assembly will bolt up with four bolts. If not, you will have to replace your one-piece front pedestal with the two-piece unit. The correct factory wide front for the regular row-crop Model B will have 17.75" knees/spindles (the wide front assembly for the BN and BW will have 19.75" knees/spindles). The round factory John Deere wide front assemblies are readily available in the $800.00 range (however that price will not include the split pedestal which might cost another $250.00).
