I have thought about this on differnt ocations also,I say Mike done the right thing, when I go to buy or look at something I take CASH unless I have made previsions before hand! My ? is what is a safe check to take(or is there a safe check)be it a personal, cashiers, postial, momeyorder or what?I also feal that if someone is honest(buyer or seller)that they should work with each other and no hard feelings being carfill to protect themselves ether the buyer or the seller!

Your personal check is the safest, and easist form of payment to carry with you. Bank drafts, and certified checks are some of the most common forged items there are.

I would rather sell anything to anybody, and see them write out a personal check in front of me, than have them pull out a cashier check already made out. You can be a pretty good judge of a buyer's honesty, when you watch them sign their name to a big dollar check that would qualify them for a Grand Theft charge if it turned out to be anything but good!

Everybody is so concerned that any big transactions have to be in cash...what are you dealing in...drugs or machinery? I agree with Mark in AB; the guy that shows up at my place with a suitcase of cash is the one that I would turn away!

Yep. That's why there's no such thing as a bad check having ever been written... :-/

Most likely the safest thing is cash, which in itself is risky to carry. All forms of payment can and have been forged and or counterfeited. Eventually it has to come down to pure and simple trust.

Personally i just can't see someone taking something like $5000 in cash out of a bank. The bank teller would advise the person to use a certified check, good as cash for the person it is payable to. I could see cash for something like $2000 or less, but I would be a little suspicious is someone came to buy my tractor with $10000 in cash in a breifcase.

2000.00 cash is my limit. Anything more I use a bank draft.
