Like stated the rabbit will eat the orange part of a carrot but he would much rather have the green top. Try using some lettuce or other green stuff.
All so if you are using a wood trap you may have a smart rabbit on your hands. Just like adding a box type entrance to a chicken coop is said to keep a fox out you may have to redue your box to get the rabbit to go in. Remove the end of your box trap and replace it with wire so the rabbit can see thru it and not think he is walking into a trap.
GOOD LUCK

Rabbits don't eat the carrot as we do which is the root of the plant. They love the green tops. You can sometimes get them on carrots at "health food" type stores. Also they like tender lettice leaves. They are looking for greens as their first choice but will eat grains when greens aren't available.

I used to use apples. Rabbits were attracted to the smell.

A cob of corn should do the trick. Shelled corn will work as well.

Hi Jack,

Wheat seed works well. Rabbits have a craving for wheat.

I've used oats. Leave a trail of a few kernels leading into the trap, and a handfull in the center of the trap for them to smell.
