Snowey, I am looking for transmission gears for my Speedex model 1631. Do you know anywhere I can get them?
Thanks a lot

Hey Snowey -
From what I hear they are hard to get parts for. That said my next door neighbor has a Speedex 16? for sale. Is this thing worth having just for something to have my boys tinker on? Has been sitting for 7 yrs. that I am aware of. Looks complete but then can't seem to find many pics of Speedex.

I am guessing it would have just a std. air cooled B&S motor with basic gearing. The boys are bit immature yet to be driving Dad's tractors, thinking this lil' Speedex might give them the "tractor bug".

Thanks in advance.

John Speedex was sold to Japan business with all patent . Speedex was made in Ohio near Kent started in I believe in the early thirty or befor by two brothers . One brother left as he needed a fancier tractor that was the start of Wheel Horse . Speedex was sold to Japan business as they needed five speed transmission within a rearend for a small tractor that was the end of speedex patent gone out of business . This is what a older Speedex dealer told me long time ago he was selling Speedex in the fiftes . Some old dealers have parts luckly I know one , son of that older dealer and he went to other dealers bought parts cheap. Speedex for it's size will do more work , more horse power to the ground more pulling , cheaper to buy new at that time than other tractor , better than any other tractor for the price . I think Speedex would make a great tractor for your friend child and with supervision from you friend that child will be on the way to classic tractor fever . Snowey
