I have a Model # 30 ser # 806999 and I am tring to find out what year this tractor was made. It has a 4 cyl gas engine, 4 speed tranny. I do not know if this is of any value but the engine is green in color. I picked it up , out of an old bard . the people wanted to get rid of it so I hauled it off. they told me that it has been setting there for atleast 20 years if not longer. Got it home and it fired up in about 20 min but leaks oil all over the place. I want to redo it but I need to know the year. any help would be apreciated. thanks norman

Hi Norm: Perhaps I'm way late with this info, but I didn't see an answer for your question. I expect you have a Case Powerloader from the early 1950s. Case made 2 models of Powerloaders. They were based on Case "SI" tractors from what I have seen. Hope this is of interest ..... ..... . Robin

sorry about that . It is a case tractor. with a rear hydro pump on it. gravity feed single bbl carb. the loder (bucket) on the tractor has POWERLOADER on the lifting arms. pwr up pwr down arms also bucket is pwr up and down. I just got this message today @ 7:00 pm . I will go out tomorrow and take pics of the tractor durning daylite tomorrow. there is one other thing . there is no oil dipstick on this machine oil is checked by removing a plug on the side of the oil pan. the oil fill is part of the magneto. I do not know if this info is of any use. thanks norman

Hey, Norm, I bet that is a Cockshutt 30 as mentioned below. You might want to look one up in the tractor photos on this website and compare. BTW, you have yourself a find! Good for you.
I live not all that far from you. I'm in Woodstock, NH, just south of the west end of the Kanc.

I just looked at the Cockshutt 30 serial numbers and yours doesn't make any sense. Cockshutt 30 numbers were either 4 or 5 digits. The 30 was made from 1946 to 1956. Any way you can post a picture of it? You really got me curious. I'd like to see it myself. It wouldn't be much of a stretch for me to make a little side trip to Bridgton some day when I'm in Conway.

Whatever brand it is must be popular-that's a pretty big SN.

Earl on a Massey-Harris 30 the engine should be red and it would have a 5-speed transmission. Could it possibly be a Cockshutt 30? Tom

Yep, you are correct, it had slipped my mind, the 5 speed that is, and you know how people get happy with spray paint. The Cockshutt would not have a green engine either though, but an older Massey would have had. Sounds like we need some more info, or a picture.

Earl, I was not sure of the engine color on the Cockshutt, we don't see them here in Southeast Missouri. That green engine on a Massey would have to be older than my 1948 Massey 30. Have a good day. Tom

We had a 1948 Cockshutt 30. Engine was a C153 Budda and the tranny was a 4x2. Had live pto and hydraulics.
