I'm looking to buy a 1935 John Deere Model A from a man. The tractor has good sheet metal, rubber is bad, & the engine is stuck. How much is that tractor worth? How much should I pay him for it? If anyone can tell me, please e-mail me back. Thanks.

Austin,

Boy, I dunno. This old iron has different values for different folks; but to my mind, that old gal is on the verge of being priceless.

If it is all there and if it is in relatively good shape except for the tires and the stuck engine thing, I think it would be worth at least it's original selling price.

I personally think that old tractor is a collector's item. It's gonna take a lot of money and time to get 'er back to form, however and could end up being a restoration black hole.

It really depends on what it is worth to you and the present owner, I guess.

Just my thoughts,

Allan

The price is usually determined by what kind of wheels are on it. If they are UNCUT round spokes front and rear then it's worth around $2500 even if it doesn't run.
