What are these companies thinking of when they move manufacturing out of the country? What about shipping cost, shipping time, loss of quality, longer time to fix problems, and the list goes on. Sure the labor is cheaper and it gives executives foreign vacations.

Ford Man is right,Deere took it to Mexico, then sold it. Old Homelite plant is about 10 miles from me, another about 50 miles from here in NC. A lot of good folks got put out of work when it was moved to Mexico, & most were highly paid, skilled jobs. Good jobs gone..... Never to return.... In the late 80's I did a lot of work building & repairing molds making plastic parts for Homelite.

Homelite is not gone . They used to be owned by John Deere ( Consumer Products Division ) . Deere sold off that line sometime around 2001 to Ryobi.

The Homelite saws , trimmers and blowers are made in Mexico at a plant Deere built not long before they sold off Homelite .

You should still be able to get parts .
