I recently bought an Allis WD. I am working on draining all fluids and putting new in. I drained the gas tank and there was all kinds of yuck in the gas. How should I clean out the tank? I was thinking of using a small shop-vac to try and suck up all the loose stuff? Any help would be appreciated. I have lots of questions I am new to WD's if anyone wants to take the time to answer them please e-mail me at mrobby123@yahoo.com. I have several questions. Thanks!

I took mine to a radiator shop. they pressure checked for pinholes and cleaned and sealed for $100.00.

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT USE A SHOP VAC! The gas fumes coming from the shop vac could be ignited by the motor and cause a pretty large explosion. Take the tank to a radiator shop. Most will be able to clean your tank.

Unless that gas tank has been bone dry for a number of years I would highly discourage the use of the shop vac.

The gas tank cleaning discussion was gone over quite thoroughly in the last day or two. Roll on down this page for some very good info.
