I have a AC WC with a stuck motor. Got the motor free and pulled the head to have a look, where I found small cracks between a couple of clyinders. Is the block any good? Can I weld and grind down to level and add a good coat of gasket sealer and get by? Thanks, Todd

Todd, it really depends on how big your small cracks are. Those blocks are notorious for cracking between the cylinders and in most cases it doesn't affect the quality of the block for normal purposes. The important area as far as the cracks are concerned is at the bottow of the web between the cylinders.

I have a unstyled wc with cracks between the cylinder sleeves which have not affected it as far as i can tell. I also have a crack in the water jacket which happens alot. what I did with my wd is i took a piece of steel and used windshield urathane and sealed it against the side of the block. this has worked better than any other sealers that i have tried. its been two years without leaking a drop.
