Looking for input on what kind of trailer I should look for for hauling a WFE tractor weighing 5,000 lbs. Would be pulling it with F-250 PSD. Really dont want to go with a gooseneck if I can help it.

Why do you not want a gooseneck trailer? The problem with bumper trailers(besides not towing as well as a gooseneck) is that most of the cheaper ones are not deck over, therefore maximum width of the deck can be is only 84", other wise you would be over the 8 1/2' maximum legal trailer width. An 84" deck is not wide enough for most 50-60HP row crop tractors with a standard wide front. If you get into the larger deck over bumper pull trailers the price of these trailers is very close to the price of a good gooseneck trailer. If you buy something that barely meets your needs now, you will wanting a better trailer a year from now. Why not just buy a decent trailer now and get it over with?

After years of using a tandem bumper pull trailer we went to a gooseneck, boy I'll never go back. We went through the ritual with our bumper pull...first we had to update the tires then equalizer hitch, then anti sways. that all goes away with a gooseneck and you don't have to buy a humongous one either. And not much bobbing up and down when loaded.

You have enough truck there to handle a trailer with a capacity of about 20,000 pounds. If you buy a small trailer now, you will soon be wanting a bigger trailer, and the small trailer will not be worth what you paid for it, even as a trade-in. Why do you not want a gooseneck?

I've had this trailer 8 years and am on my 2nd set of tires. Just handy as heck. It is rated for 10,000 lbs and I've hauled all that and more. I replaced the 6ply tires with 8ply. It had used car wheels on it when I got it and they did not hold up either.
