I recently aquired a Ford 860, all seems to work well but the 3 point only lifts about half way and stops. The lift is strong and it lifts quick and smoothe it just will not go as high as I think it should. I tried with the control in constant draft and imlement. Any advise is appreciated.

I had similar symptoms on a 1963 Ford 4000. I pulled the lift cover discovered that the pin that follows the cam on the rocker shaft was worn almost in half. I was able to press the old pin out and went to the NH dealer and found that replacement pin for the 800s & 4000s was no longer in stock however a pin for an 8n was still stocked. I pressed the new 8n pin in, made the adjustments in the IT manual (the ones for those of us that don't have the NUDAY tools) and the lift works fine. Total for parts was under $10.00 and about 1 hour actual labor finding the pin made the project last about a week.

After I finished my repair I found a kit listed in the Ford forum from a gentleman named Zane for $40.00 that includes the pin, adjustment gauges and instructions. If you post over on the Ford forum or do a search for "Zane" you will find the info, that would be the way I would go if doing it again.
