The 1965 135 diesel w/mp that we got when I was a kid had factory 13.6 - 28 on the rear. When they wore out we had a good set of used 14.9s that we put on for awhile.....the tractor pulled them fine and was a real racehorse! We only used the tractor for haying, so had no need for fluid in them.

Get the biggest size you can justify, and sometimes larger tires are cheaper than a specific size...!! In soft ground, you will leave much deeper tire marks with any smaller tire... I would go with at least the largest tire option offered for it.. At least get the largest tire recommended for your rim width.. You will be Glad Many times over..!!!

Actually, the first MF 135 models used 11x28,(as did the MF35 and TO models) and about 1970 they began using 12.4/11x28. I think the same time as MF began using the perkins 3cyl engine. It's also about the time of tire measurment changes, where measurment switched from tire tread measurment to measurment at the widest point, the sidewall bulge; thus the weird size listing 12.4/11x28 The tires are nearly the same height, because I've got a 1968 135 with 11x28 and Dad has a 1974 135 with 13.4 rears. Parked beside each other the tire width is quite evident, but the height seems about the same. As a side note; there was an optional rear tire size- 14.9/13x24

My 1969 Massey Ferguson 135 Orchard has 18.3 X 16s with Planitary Hubs and the Perkins 3 cyl Gas engine in it. Very wide tires! Mark H.

get the right tires because this will slow down your ground speed, tractor will sit lower in the rear. your draw bar will be lower.and it might have some afect on your 3pt. because your tractor sits lower and will change the lift heighth of your imps.plus they are about 1in. narrower
