Hmmmmm m,

What you have here is a grown man eating crow.

Come to think of it, wife just bought a brand new washer & dryer (Maytag).

The washer has some kind of a built in fluid balancing ring around the tub. This goofy thing absolutely will not vibrate--ever.

It cost an arm and a leg, but it sure doesn't vibrate!

So, maybe the golf ball thingy is correct.

Chomp, chomp,

Allan

A few years back, a bud bought a car that literally threw itself off the road at 50 miles an hour. Didn't notice it in the test drive because they were on city streets.

The front tire on the passenger side was the culprit, bouncing so wildly that the car just went for the ditch.

The tire was balanced in the shop, but it happened again, so they took the tire off the rim. About a gallon of water came out of the tire. That's 8 pounds suddenly going to one side of the tire.

Sorry, if I have a problem tire, it gets replaced.

As for washing machines, I've got a Swedish made front loader that spins at 1200 rpm and doesn't vibrate. Pretty neat.

In the late 40's or early 50's my mother bought a "Thor" brand washer which was supposed to be convertible between a dishwasher and a clothes washing machine, don't think that idea ever went over too well, but it had a fluid balincing setup of some sorts, and we kids used to try everything we could think of to throw it off balance, especially piling all the clothes to one side if it before we put it on the manual spin cycle and it could take all we threw at it and keep on going. Wife has flowers in the dishwasher tub now.

LOL!!!!

Yes indeed! It is the "commerical sized" model. :>)

And on the sadder note: $2000 for a washer and dryer. This 'ol world is a changin' on us, Gents.

It won't work on the computerized spin balancers. They don't run long enough for the balls to get in the right place. Same thing with the neverleak in tires. You'll drive yourself crazy trying to balance one with that stuff in there.

Hey Allan, now that the H is running so good, maybe you should put some golf balls in those rear tires?

LOL!

Just might have to. :>)

I'll tell ya what is throwin' me for a curve is this vertical terrain. Real estate that drops more than a foot per mile seems pretty darned steep to me.

I'm such a flat-Lander that putting chains on a tractor just doesn't seem normal. But, don't ya know; they are on order. :>)
