A guy came by that has a avery tractor he wants to sell,so I went and looked at it and it"s in pretty good shape appearence whise very good sheet metal motor clean but battery was missing so we could not crank it. He says it runs fine and engine does not smoke. But my question is where might the serial number be found on it.It has B.F.avery on the back axles and thats all I have found so far.It is a small tractor with a narrow front end although it does have two wheels on the front. It is kind of orange in color and has not been repainted, also has a 4 cly hercules engine in it.Any help would be apreciated.Jack B

The seriel # is stamped in top of the right frame railin front of the brakes,if it is a cletrac it would have a metal plate on side of right frame rail by brakes.
Here is the BF Avery Collectors web page,

Thanks for the help guys alberta mike sent some infomation I belive its going to be a 1950 R I didn't even know the model of it the decals are gone.I found some numbers on that side of the tractor and I thought it said P 1052 but pretty sure it was R 1052 couldn't see very well at the time. I was looking for a tag at the time and did n't realize that it would be stamped on the frame.

Why is it that you think it is an Avery? Does it have Avery decals on it? The reason I ask is that the earlier version of Avery's were Cletrac Generals which were orange. The later versions were after MM took over the lineup and the tractors were painted MM gold color. Since it has two front wheels (narrow front tricycle) I would guess one of the MM models from early 50's. No Averys were orange to my knowledge. Email me at the name link on this post (I've removed the email address hide) and I'll email you some information.

I have a BF Avery tractor (I know this because is it stamped on both sides of the differential), the model number is 6V-581. Could you please tell me a little more about this tractor and where I could get an engine rebuilt kit for it?
