Recently I noticed that I am getting what looks like oil out of the breather pipe on my IH 560. The volume is greater when it first start up but continues. Thr tractor sits quite a bit, it runs probably one weekend per month. Any ideas?

I agree with Jim and old, start by using some good engine cleaner, I like rizalone, to free any sticking rings. The way you describe your usage of the tractor, sticky rings could be the problem. Especially if when you run it, it dosen't run for a long time. I'd also do a leak down test on the cylinders and try to determine where the blowby is coming from. Good luck Larry

Both my Farmall 560's have an oil-bath style air cleaner (air is drawn through an oil bath at the bottom of the intake tube). The only thing I can think of (off the top of my head) could possibly be a couple of burned intake valves allowing combustion gases to be blown into the intake pipe and forcing some oil back up the intake pipe.... just a guess though!

Is your tractor a gas or a diesel?
