Does anyone have any info on 1950's Clark forklifts with the gas 4 cylinder? Engine make, transmission, gross weight etc?

Your best info will come from a CLARK dealer ceck the yellow pages. This is what i had to do with an engine out of a forklift and they were very helpful.

I used to have an old Y40 (if I remember correctly). It had a continental engine (may have been a Y112, 2speed tranny with a shuttle probably weighed 6000 to 7000 lbs. It was old but was always reliable.

Thanks for the reply. The one I'm looking at has the dual wheels on the front and it has a 4 cylinder engine and 4 speed trans. The tires look to be about 16" or larger. I don't know the capacity or what it might be worth in running condition. Any ideas?

Thanks

Sold mine about 10 years ago for 2700 and it is still working. Yours will probably a 6000 lbs lift. You can get close to the weight of the machine by doubling the lift capacity. Can't tell what engine is in yours. Value depends on condition. In good running condition value may be 30 to 60 percent of lift capacity for yard machines.
