According to the information that I have there were 5 companies in the original merger of 1902.

McCormick Harvesting machine Company

Deering Harvester Company

Plano Harvester Company

Milwaukee Harvester Company

Warder, Bushnell & Glessner Company

Most of these were conglomerates of many other companies that had already merged by 1902.

Hope this helps.

Dan

Mark go to some tractor shows and look in the venders displays find the book 150 years of International Harvester, a red book about 10" by 12" and 1 and 1/2 inch thick.

In 1870 Willie Deering invested $40,000.00 in the Marsh Harvester company. In 1872 Deering became a partner. In 1880 Deering bought out the other partner.

In 1902 Deering, McCormic and 3 other companys formed IHC.
