Have a chance to buy a To30 Ferguson or a 550 Oliver. Both need engine overhaul, the 550 has live lift and is running but smokes. The TO30 is not running but has newer rear tires. This will just be an extra tractor. Which one would you rather buy? thanks

I like the Oliver! It will be more powerful, have more gears, have live pto and live hydraulics, maybe power steering? Plus I think the Olivers are one of the most underated tractors ever made.

DAd had a 1951 TO30 tough as any tractor made but the 550 may have some good things about it the To dos not have.

If I were you I would go with the 550. It is a newer design and has live power. I think it also has more Hp.

Plus I like Oliver.

Had both at one time or another. Go with the 550.
