What is it with people and what they are asking for stuff in the classifieds? Did they make some stuff gold plated or something?

Yes there are a few prices that seem a bit high, but on the average they seem a bunch cheaper than what they are going for on auctions these days. Lately it hardly pays to show up at the auctions. The junkers are going for more than some of my highest paid purchases. The implements are getting nuts too!
Two bottom plows with flat tires for $500.00

hmmm, wish I had bought a couple hundred 10 years ago.

I'm with you on that one, I am betting that alot of that stuff never finds a new home.

I've noticed some wide ranges of asking prices. Some of them seem outrageous to me too.
Some of it may be regional differences in going prices, some of it may be wishful thinking.
I think sometimes it's a matter of dangling the bait just to see if anybody rises up to nibble.

Asking a price is not the same as getting a price, but if you don't ask it, you'll never get it.
