Hydraulic question

I asked the question a couple times on Farmall forum and got no response so will try it here. I have a SMTA IH tractor. Has live hydraulics and an auxiliary valve, IH kind so you can use a 2 way cylinder. The 3 point works off of this valve and I wanted to have a remote in addition to it. It has open center hydraulics and uses the lift all box, under the rear of the fuel tank, as a reservoir and the relieve valve is there also. My pressure hose to the new valve Ts into the pressure line from the pump just before it enters the lift all box. Outlet line from new valve goes to inlet on IH valve. Out let from IH valve Ts into return line between pump and lift all as it did before. Lift all lever is locked as needed to run auxilairy valve. When I pull the lever on the IH valve back and the 3 point tops out the lever on the new valve will lift and it will actually exert some pressure on remotes. Any suggestions?

Dan;

I have a SMTA and I also wanted to add a remote + power steering. What I was informed that the way to do this was to put on a double valve set up. Because I also added power steering I had to re-plumb the hydraulics with the pressure line going to a flow priority valve, the small port goes to the double valve inlet and the double valve outlet to the presure inlet on the tank. I then ran new hoses to the 2-point hitch and my remote off of the new double valve. The return line goes directly to the pump. The laarge outlet port from the flow priority valve goes to the power steering motor and the outlet from the power steering ties into the return line to the pump. With it plumbed this way the Lift-All lever is left in the forward position. It works great and the power steering was a great addition. If you would like I will take some photos of it and e-mail them to you.

Good Luck!

Pictures would be good if you can. It sounds like your setup is plumbed about like mine. Originally the pressure line Td to the inlet of the IH valve and then went on to the lift all. Return from lift all has T that goes to return of IH valve. According to instructions you can use the lift all or the remote valve but not both at the same time. You have to lock the lever foreward on lift all when using the remote or lock the remote if using lift all. I basically put the the new valve and old IH valve in series. Both work ok other than lifting new valve. The new valve I'm using came off of a wood splitter. Wondering if maybe it is not spring centered or something. Thanks for the help.

Dan;

I will try to get photos tomorrow. Go ahead and e-mail me (double click on my name in blue)as I don't know if I can successfully attach picks.

Later!
