Hey guys, I need to know what these things are worth that will be auctioned. MF135D, good rubber, 1200 hours, nice tractor
H Farmall, good shape
John Deere B - unstyled (ser#31314)
John Deere B - styled (ser#245339), runs good, original owner with original manual...nice tractor
John Deere B syled - 1952 model, all original
JD 346 Square Baler - wire tie - field ready
NH 489 Mower Conditioner, good shape

They are auctioning off an entire estate in central Texas. They will be autioning off a lot of things (even dishes), but this is what I'm interested in.

Thanks for any help,

You need to get the 'Hotline' list, basically a blue-book for tractors, combines, manure spreaders, mocos, and a few others. This gives average national prices at auctions.

There really is no good answer, they will bring what they bring. If 2 relatives want an item, it will bring a whole lot on sentimental value. If only 1 person shows up that wants the item, it will go 1/2 of it's real 'value'.

With your long list, I'm thinking people will shy away from replying - not sure why you want so many tractors at one time - just looks a little different maybe, like some game? I don't mean anything by this, just an observation.

You are best off getting a bluebook price list, they do have a web site.....

I wrote too fast, as always. ;) ;)

I didn't think you were up to anything at all, and I appologize if I appeared to say that.

When you've hung around these forums for 5-6 years, you see all kinds of people with all kinds of ways of doing things. I only meant to say, the way you worded the message, you might run into people who will say to you.....

Well, what I guess I said!

Sorry about that.

It sounds like your family is interested in a wide range of machines. I would recommond the Hotline books, about $40. They list some of the options, engine, tranny, weight, etc. of the machines, as well as auction & (sometimes) dealer prices. Really helpful. Their web site may allow you to look up one item for free - haven't been there in a while. Searching www.google.com for 'hotline machinery' should find it for you, if the obvious web address doesn't work.

Itech also makes some $15-19 tractor guides which help in figuring prices - can find those in farm supply stores.

Again, I meant to help more than I hurt! Bad wording on my part. :)

Tom The auction is Sept. 27@ 9am 3.5 miles west of Wortham off of F.M.27 on C.R.230.The auctioneer on this one goes pretty fast he's not the type that tries to get that extra dollar. If bidding slows it's sold. This is an estate auction sale with no reserves/minium.he will have another auction Oct.18@ Oletha. Maybe we will see each other at one of them.Talk to you later.

You asked what they are worth but I think you are asking what should they bring. Big difference between selling as is where is at an estate and selling off a working farm or dealers lot.

I'll give you 2 prices, 1st is what I would pay to try to take home and sell for a reasonable profit, and the other is what I would be willing to pay to bring home and use.

MF 135: $3900/$5500
H: $500/ (painted)$1500
B's $1000/$2500
JD346 $1500/ /(I may have to hold it a while) $4400
NH489 $400 /$1000

This would be local market, central KY

IF you are looking to "collect" tractors they are worth whatever you are willing to pay. If you are buying them to resell you have to hope that you can find someone that wants them worse than you do once you have bought them. Works kinds like the stock market. Good luck.

As mentioned, you have to pay what they are worth to you. However, for the sake of asking for opinions on worth, here's my thoughts. Assuming all tractors are in good running order, good rubber, and average to above paint, these are my guesstamate prices. It's hard to judge without actually seeing the machine.
1.) MF 135D, in the $4000 range 2.) H Farmall, $900-$1200
3.) B John Deere unstyled, Depending on type of wheels, Brass tag, etc.,$2000-$3500
4.) B John Deere styled, $1000-$1500
5.) B John Deere late model, $1200-$1600
These prices are based on what I have seen these tractors advertised for in recent months as well as the fact I buy and sell on the side, and these are price ranges I would ask if selling these tractors.
