Hello all,
The old ford NAA doesn't have the juice that it used to. I believe it is a 1954 NAA bought new by my grandfather, I've been using it for 20 years now and need to make the decision to rebuild (it was overhauled probably 20 years ago) or replace this tractor. Any ideas what it would cost to have the motor rebuilt, if I decide to have it rebuilt I want everything done, new pistons, valves the works I don't want to have take it back because we skimped on something. Overall the rest of the tractor is great, the hydraulics are getting a little weak though. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Best Regards,
Joe Hance Pennsylvania

Joe, I'd definately rebuild it. If the tractor has served your needs for a number of years, it will probably continue to do so after the rebuild. Why buy something else when you can preserve a part of your family's history & have a trustworthy machine to get the job done with for the same or less $$$. You have a part of your family's history-keep it in good condition for future generations. (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD)

If you give up on your old tractor, and go get another one, who's to say it won't need the same thing in a year? If you rebuild yours, at least you know what you've got then. (There are a bunch of us that look for an excuse to rebuild old tractors. You already have a good reason) I'd rebuild.

I'd restore if possible, it is the rarest of the Ford line. ;-)
