i have a 2290 that starts you can turn on the pto ect but as soon as you push the clucth to put the tractor in gear the whole thing dies out quits!!!It also feels like the tractor lost power.
PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS!!!

your powershift trans. is out. probably C1 clutches, but when your in there may as well look at everything.

I'd get it checked out by a good hydraulics shop. When you mash in the inching pedal and the tractor dies sounds like something in the inching pedal oil circuit. As far a a full powershift overhaul, my best friend had one done by the local Case IH dealer, $6500 for a simple rebuild. About a month late rhe was irrigating and lost hydraulic pressure for an instant. That uncoupled the PTO clutches. He was pushing 2 miles of 6 and 8" pipe. It recoupled before he got it shut down and broke the main shaft in the PTO and shreaded the powershift again. Put another $7000 in it this time. Wound up with $13,500 in an $8500 tractor.

one of the shift spools in the valve on the right side of the tractor is stuck
