I'm setting here, waiting for my son, and daughter to get to the house, so we can go to the hospital. Last night, we had to rush my wife there, becouse she fell very ill. At this point, the doctors aren't telling us much. She started complaining about "not feeling very good" yesterday morning. That isn't like her. She usually won't say anything, when she's in pain. The nurse attending to her last night, told me that the doctors were lookig at a "mass" near her liver. I pray to God that she'll be OK. Just a few days ago, I was telling everyone how great of a year we are having. Now I would trade it all for a good word from the doctors.

You can call it the power of prayer, collective concisnous , the force, what ever. It helps. God be with you and your family. Have faith and be strong for them. I write this with eyes misted at the thought that are, still, good decent, caring humans in this crappy world. God bless.

I would like to thank EVERYONE for the thoughts and prayers. Like someone said, we don't even know the people on this board, yet you begin to feel the friendship, and bond we all have. 24 hours later, and we still don't know a lot more. There is an "exploratory surgery" planned for later today. The surgeon talked to us last night. He said there is a small mass, about the size of a golf ball, located near her liver. It seems to be small, and doesn't appear to have involved the liver yet. He gave us some percentages, and facts about what we may be dealing with. He tried to be encouraging. I have found myself remembering things my father and mother used to tell me. The first thing that comes to mind is God always answers your prayers...just that he might not always give you the answer you're looking for. With all the "pull" we can muster together, I think this time, He might just give us the one we ARE looking for. I'll keep you all up to date. After all the kind words, and prayers, I am starting to think of you all as family. At the very least, I don't feel like we are facing this alone. Again, thanks from the bottom of my heart.

Hopefully if your lucky it is just the gallbladder and your wife would need a gallbladder removal surgery. I had mine out 6 years ago.

When I read your post about your wife's situation yesterday I didn't respond with a post, but I did respond with heartfelt prayers for your wife. I will be continually praying for all your family. This sorta thing doesn't affect just the person that is suffering.... it involves the entire family.

Deuteronomy 7:9
"Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;"

Hi, Indydirtfarmer. I know what that is like, Mate. I lost my mother and my eldest son to luekaemia. My son was 4 1/2 years old.

All you can really do now is to live one day at a time, pray like you mean it and treasure every moment that you have with each of your loved ones.

My thoughts will be with you all from DownUnder too.

You all have a wonderful day.
Best wishes. Deas Plant.

I'm an ex-Hoosier who had emergency open heart surgery at age 48, sucessful chemo for leukemia at age 56 followed by a heart attack two weeks after chemo. I retired in 1999 and my wife and I are developing a small cattle ranch in Montana. Have faith in God and don't ever give up. Miracles happen every day. There isn't a day that goes buy that I'm not grateful for getting up in the morning. Our prayers are with you and your wife for a sucessful recovery.

On a wall in a family lounge and waiting room at Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital in NYC, I found a lot of comfort when I saw many, many photographs of cancer survivors (people in 5, 10 and so on years of remission). These people were all recent participants in some sort of reunion the hospital holds every year.

People do beat cancer everyday. I pray that you and your wife do also.

It still surprises all of us how fast things can change.

We recently went through a similar thing. My mother is fighting cancer right now and the only symptom she had was a small lump on her temple. Come to find out she had a 12 cm tumor on one of her kidneys. She has went through Chemo and everything is looking good now. They think they have the cancer beat.

Trust the doctors but stay informed. Modern medicine is a wonderful thing.

Our thoughts are with you and your family. I hope everything works out.

Similar thing happened to my wife 2 years ago between Christmas and New Years. She didn't go to the hospital, but was extremely sick. After several trips to the Dr. and countless tests they still don't know what was wrong.

The aftermath is that she is on several different kinds of medication.

Our best goes out to you and yours. Hope all comes out well.

Glad on this disucssion board there is acceptance of sharing what is going on it lives of others. Opening words of a benediction our pastor often uses are these: "LIFE IS SHORT, WE HAVE BUT LITTLE TIME TO GLADDEN THE HEARTS OF THOSE WHO TRAVEL THE WAY WITH US. O BE SWIFT TO LOVE, MAKE HASTE TO BE KIND....."! (ETC) God bless and may your prayers be answered.

Kind of funny how we can read all these posts from people we don't know (and will probably never meet), yet feel like close friends. Especially the regular posters like Indydirtfarmer.

When it comes down to it, there is lots of good people on this earth, but so much of the time the bad ones seem to get all the attention.
