Are these good tractors, are they a good tractor to collect or restore? What would the value of a tractor like this be. It has live pto, front and rear hydos, power steering and TA. It has a front loader with a bucket and blade, it has a rear blade and a fast hitch drawbar. Any info on this kind of tractor would be great.

My Dad bought one new in 1956 . They were a great Tractor . Quick Hitch was better than three point and should have become the industry standard , if IH would have shared it . Wish I still had it . Motor got damaged in a rebuild an it was never the same .

Had 1956 300U that we sold 2 years ago. Great tractor, wish we still had it but had to make room for a couple new tractor additions. It had all the bells and whistles, power steering, TA, IPTO, 2 point hitch, loader, cigar lighter, etc. We got $5,800 for it to a horse farmer who felt he needed all the bells and whistles. This was IH's entry into the Utility market, and they built a work horse.

I had one of them. It didn't have all those nice things you mention. Only a Henry loader.
I traded it off for a '48 M.

I have a 1955 300 utility that i restored last year and take it to the local tractor shows, not too many 300 utilities there. Mine has TA, IPTO, wheel weights and i also have some fast hitch equipment i have collected.

Collecting and restoring is mostly a personal choice. They aren't rare. They are, however, extremely tough little tractors! There's little else its size and age that will compare to it in terms of basic ruggedness.

I haven't seen one sold lately, so I don't know what they bring, but there are a lot of them out there.
Collectability is in the eye of the collector, I know a guy who has several.
They are a handy tractor to have around, whether it's a collectable or a working tractor.
