Does anyone know what became of the deal from a company that supposedly bought the pickup rebate certificates issued by G.M.? Their website seems to be unavailable any longer, was being reorganized(?) it said earlier in the year. Yhe site was www.CertificateRebates.com . Am I the lone loser on this one,or did anybody else deal with them? They supposedly were paying $100.00 for each rebate certificate sent to them, and they would negotiate with GM(?) on purchase of new vehicles using the certificates.Just wondered what other peoples experiences were with them or if anybody dealt with them?

I sent my application for certificate to the GM Class Action Settlement PO Box 2590 Young America MN back in 2001. GM never sent my certificate. I've had my 1978 C10 since 1987 but am replacing it with a Subaru this month. Normally I would have got to the bottom of the unsent certificate, but in the last 2.5 years to say that my life was hectic would be an understatement.

If memory serves correctly, there was some fine print saying that the $100 was conditional on that company being to collect on the GM certificate.

I lost a parent to cancer today and can't sleep. My wife is divorcing me and the truck is rusting out. I will miss my mother and the truck.

Gene, If you're interested in a GM truck or car I have a certificate for the "GM in the driveway" program. This give you a discount equal to a prefered supplier. Between a grand or two! You can go to gmbuypower.com to see the current incentive. This certificate is in addition to the current incentives. Let me know how to contact you and I will be more than glad to give you a certificate!

Might you have any Gm in the driveway certs left? My sister is in need of a new car and this would help make it affordable. Thanks for your concideration. J. Wollaston

I'm a GM fan through and through (good or bad, depending on who you talk to, I guess), and used the $1000 certificate toward buying my '01 truck.
I also sold the '81 GMC stepside I had for $2200 right after I bought the new one.
I'm not "brand bashing"-just saying that my GM experiences have been positive.

Hi Gene,

I suspect there are a lot of losers out there. Except for the lawyers involved of course :o). I'am one of the losers. I got the rebate for my '83 Chev 1 ton not long before I purchased a new truck. Be damned if I was going to buy GM just to get the rebate. I looked at GM before my purchase (briefly) but decided it would take more than a grand to lure me back to 'em.

This is the third "major class action" in which I have been one of the many parties involved. Not once have I gotten anything tangible from them so this one is no different.

Eat it and move on, I guess.

I did as you...sent it to them but never heard another word. Didn't matter to me much because I'd never have used the certificate anyhow, so I figure I didn't lose anything.
