Good news/ bad news. One of my sons came home from the war on terrison overseas this weekend. I sure was glad to see him. The other son in the same unit, but at a different location has not left there yet. They went over together. I hope to see him real soon. Thanks to all for the prayers and I hope everyone continues to pray for the soldiers.

Thanks folks for all the comments. My son said on the way home they had a lay over in Maine and there were so many people at the airport there that had flags and signs and giving them such a welcome there it really made him feel good. Of course they got a good welcome at Ft. Polk but at 3:30 in the morning it was mostly family. My younger son is supposed to leave tomorrow coming home. I will be glad to have him home and looking forward to seeing him this weekend. I also appreciate all the folks that served in the prior wars and conflicts and this one. They have put their life on the line for our freedom.

My prayers and thanks to you and your sons for their sacrifice from a mid-60s Green Beret. We will never forget those we lost then, or those who are serving ALL of us now. Again, a most difficult time, and too many sacrifices not appreciated by those who live their lives with no remembrance or respect for those who have provided it for us. As we said back then- "Don't you realize there is a WAR going on?" Really hit home to me while going through a Massachusett's shopping mall in 1965 on the way back to Minnesota for leave- they did not have a clue- just the normal hustle and bustle while our troops were dying for us. Wish you and yours the best.

Sir, I just got back a few weeks ago myself. I have seen Afghanistan as well as Iraq, and every time someone says thank you, I want to cry. Thank you for remembering us in prayers and words and deeds. You all made me remember why it is I do what I do. And just in case nobody says it, "You're welcome".

Congrats, I think that trying to win the hearts and minds of the middle east is proving to be a looooong process. Peace in the middle east? Not in my lifetime. It was nice to kick Saddam in the teeth though.
