We have a 6400 with about 9000 hours now. Weakest point was the driveshaft between the engine and transmission, twisted ours in half three times before they did an upgrade and put in a heavier walled shaft. I think they had problems with deteriorating fuel lines on the cab tractors but ours is O/S and we haven't had any trouble. Solenoid and/or switches for the PTO have been trouble spots too, we've also had a lot of trouble with our exhaust system breaking apart because of excess vibration but our tractor was running 115-120 hp out of the factory. Also had trouble with the cooling fan, they were originally two speed for high or low loads but they tended to get stuck on the low speed and wouldn't cool enough under load, they replaced the two speed with a single high speed and that worked better. Also if you're getting a loader the 640 loader on ours ('95 model) was an absolute piece of crap, they upgraded the main bushings about a year later (after we had replaced ours twice in less than 1000 hours) and we had to reinforce most of the bushings on it because they kept cracking out. Check out the history on it versus the upgrades, if it's a later model that's had most of the upgrades it should be a pretty good tractor.
