I have been having trouble with my 2440's hydraulic filters clogging up, thus making the system useless. We originally drained all the hydraulic fluid out that we could, and replaced both the long, skinny filter, and the cartridge one as well. It worked fine for a while, but is now clogged again. We cleaned it out last night, and within a few minutes was not working properly. There seems to be some gunk up in there, somewhere. So the big question, What is the best way, or is there a way to flush the hydraulic system on this tractor??? Any helpful thoughts or ideas are appreciated!!!

What kind of gunk are you finding, brown fiberess/brass wire or thin brown chunks/flakes mean that it is time to replace the brake linings. Removal of rear axle housings is the fix. The thin brown chunks/flakes could also be clutch lining. Let us know what material you find. chris

It's not clutch matl. in the hydraulics. (Dry clutch on the 2440) Most likely brake lining. (It had to come from somewhere...could be just one "pad". That would let the brakes work somewhat normal. Get it ALL out, clean screen, change filter, put in clean, good oil. Then test at all your pressure's at key points.
