I got a power cart a few days ago. It runs on two
Group 27 Batteries. Been sitting in a heated building about a year, unused. Tried to charge the
Gel-type batteries, without success. As they were
new, used, just sitting, are they ruined? I hope
there is a method to get them to charge. Any
suggestions? I'm using the charger that goes with
them, they appear dead. I checked the C-breaker.
My first pair of gel batts, don't want to buy a
second pair, instantly. Some 'secret' may help.
Thank you.

Try connecting the battery you are trying to charge to a good battery of equal voltage, pos to pos and neg to neg. Then hook up to the charger. If it starts charging, disconnect the good battery.

I'm not a expert at all but I had one that wouldn't take a charge that still had warranty on it. When I took it back they ask if it was clear dead, I said yes The service man said you have to shock charge them to get it started again He said put the biggest charger on it you have turned to jump start for 10 min than turn it to normal charge It worked for me Larry

Had several cable TV gelCell batteries given to me a while back. Some just wouldn't take a charge, no matter what I tried. If someone has an answer to this, I'd sure like to know!
