I recently picked up a JD 2010RU that had been sitting for about 3 years with the hyd/trans fluids drained. After some parts and the filter cover installation, I serviced systems w/correct fluid (approx. 10 gallons) and started it up. The 3 point arms came up O.K. at the time. But, after getting it up to my farm (1/2 mile away) I lowered the 3 point to check it out. The arms wouldn't raise again and still won't. The power steering works O.K. Transmission works fine through all gears. I have checked the hose QD's and there is minimal fluid out of them most of the time. Sometimes there is fair flow and even times where it will shoot fluid 4-5 feet away. There are also times when air comes out. Is it possible that there is an air lock in the system? If so, how do I bleed it and where?

Also, The left brake is locked on. I had to disconnect the linkage running from the cross shaft to the drum. I can't locate any brake locking devices to release.

Any help on these two problems will be greatly appreciated.

2010 RCU's have history of plugging the input filter if it had a loader and you blew out a cylinder packing, maybe it's rust or some other dirt in this case. Also there's an o-ring between the pump and rear end housing that will blow some times. Pump is accessed from bottom up into rear housing.

If this has been sitting (as you said) and the left brake is stuck on the cross shaft is probably frozen in the torque tube housing. You said the transmission oil had been drained. Could this unit have possibly been under water? Anyway your going to need some good penetrating oil to free it up.

Bob,
Many thanks.
The trans wasn't under water. But it did sit open to the elements VIA the transmission filter cover. One of the cover attachment bolt threads in the housing stripped. The previous owner retapped next size up, but passed away before reassembling.

No loader. So, I'll look into the o-ring.

If it has been setting that long it could have condensation rust inside the housing and stopping up the filter Clean and flush system. The rod could be frozen for the brake. try soaking and see if that will free up.

Thanks Alton,
Filter looked good when I put the cover on. But, you're right. Crud may have come loose when I serviced and operated it.
Is there any way to power flush the system? Or is it more of a drain and fill process?

As for the left brake, I'll take your advise. Again, thanks.
