Hey guys, are any of you having problems posting things on the Crawler board? I've been trying to post a reply to another post looking for a CAT track loader manual for 3 days, and get a message every time saying the post won't go through. There have been other posts put on there since I started having problems, so it really has me stumped. I haven't had any problems on this board, in fact I put up a post last night. Anybody got any idea what could be wrong? Thanks for any help.

Could be that YT doesn't want you to mention that you have a manual you can sell to the guy. They'd rather have him buy an overpriced manual from here so they can delay shipment for 4 weeks.

YT has recently been filtering posts to weed out those making reference to competing sources for manuals, parts, etc that don't buy advertising space here.

I can understand this to a degree. Things like links placed by outside sources just for adbvertising purposes is wrong. However, to block someone from placing a link to try to help someone else out, especially when it's for a piece of equipment that YT dosesn't offer a manual for, I think that is just plain sorry. Personally I'd rather have a business tell me they don't have something and point me to another source, even if it's their biggest competetor, than to simply shrug their shoulders and say "we don't have it, good luck finding it". A company like that will do that will get more repeat business from me because I know their in business to help the customer and not just for the money. That's the problem with too many businesses nowdays...worried about nothing but the bottom line. Anyway, the above is a general statement, and if the shoe fits wear it, but I don't think the link was causing the problem, because I tried posting without the link and just giving the web address and it didn't go through like that either. Unfortunately the person who posted blocked their e-mail so I couldn't even send them the info that way....Oh well, their loss.....
Thanks for the input.

I know, I really like ytmag the web site, best one.

But, the screening issues kinda make me buck on using their services - I think a company should stand on it's own merrits, not censor out the competition. As you say, there are good points on both sides, I _hate_ spam & commercial advertising on forums, so this is not a total knock on ytmag.

The way to do it is like:

www. v a l u b i lt . com or

t r a c t o r b y n e t .com

neither of which you are supposed to mention here - odd, since the second one especially is a totally differnt field, deals with new compact tractors.

I also made a message years ago that I could not post, just didn't post. Seemed odd to me. Finally found out there was one work I was using (not all that bad, I've seen worse here) that was causing the problem.

I think there could be a better way of telling us that our message doesn't meet censorship, rather than just dumping us into the nietherlands & no idea why.

My 2 cents, but still not complaining, I really like this website & it is generally very well run.
