Haven't seen one in years, but used to see them around highway construction jobs a lot. They were fairly long tractors, about the size of a 50 hp tractor but longer due to the air tanks incorporated into the frame. They were used to provide a portable source of compressed air for jack hammers, small shot hole drills, other such applications. I don't believe they were designed to do the work of a tractor, they just had a draw bar, no 3 pt hitch. It was just an air compressor on wheels for rough terrain.

Yes, they are rare. You can only get parts from Schramn. There isn't to much you can do with them after you have one unless you are going to show it at a construction show. I had a friend who head one but he got rid of it & got something else.

Schramm used IH tractors to make air compressors. 4 cyl. eng.-2 cyl. as motor, 2 cyls. as compressor.
