To quote an out of work Demo ex president: "I FEEL YOUR PAIN". In short, been there, done that. Many posts in response contain common sense and great wisdom...experience often purchased at the cost of mistakes. Take heart...you are a smarter tractor man than when you made those mistakes. Have a good 4th weekend.

If you don't make too big a mistake, just figure it as the cost for a lesson. Going to college to learn lessons isn't cheap either, so just try to keep it under control.

"experience often purchased at the cost of mistakes."

Yep, I am another, "Been There, Done that" guy too. At the same time I agree with another poster that said this is an excellent time to look for a parts tractor. We are always in the need of another tractor..... ..

That boo-boo obviously cost you big time!! While most responeses are trying to be nice -nice ,I take a different approach .What the blankety -blank is the matter with you don't you have any common sense ,no excuse unless you are under the age of 18.one of the problem with people today is the politically correct way of telling everyone that they are doing great as a way of building self esteem, nonsense all that does is give people an excuse to be mediocre.Like in NY state 90%of students flunked a math test ,so what do we do ?? throw out the results and say it was too hard what a crock!!

Nowadays, the politically correct way is to declare yourself a victim and sue the maker of the tractor, the person that sold you the tractor, the company that sold you the tools you used to work on the tractor, the parts store that sold you the parts and the bookmaker that printed your repair manuals.

Then you will collect millions of dollars and get to star in the daytime TeeVee talk shows with other broken tractor victims. They will have group hugs and tearfully sing victim songs..... .

Hi, JD-tractor. You are entitled to your opinion and I would defend your right to it. That doesn't mean I agree with it.

I didn't read ALL the posts in this thread but the 7 or 8 that I did read all seemed to agree that Hidden Identity HAD stuffed up and big time but the general run of them seemed to be saying,
"Stop kicking yourself, learn from it and move on", something that maybe the NY education authorities DIDN'T do if they threw out the math test results instead of looking at improving the teaching methods.

What he did may not be the smartest thing you or I have ever seen anybody do but he has admitted that it was DUMB and he apparently KNOWS that it has cost him big bucks and a lot of (previously) un-necessary work. How long is he supposed to keep on kicking himself while he's down if he plays by your rules?

How long do you go on giving your wife a hard time if she stuffs up? And, is she entitle to a second opinion before you start in giving her a hard time? Or is your judgement LAW around your way?

I also don't think Hidden Identity needs you or anybody else to tell him he's stuffed up. He made it pretty obvious that he and hip pocket nerve have worked that much out for themselves. Let him get on with his life.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

Man just got married, driving wagon home, mule stumbles, man say's "that's 1" , little later mule stumbles again man say's "that's 2, not much later mule stumbles again, man shoots mule. New wife say's "that's a little radical" man say's, "wife that's 1".
Man has name JD-tractor.
Deas Plant is right, get up and get going, past is past.
