I would appreciate any advice and experience anyone has had with the 20 to 25 h.p. small 4x4 tractors (zetor etc). I have just acquired a 5 acre place in west N.C. and plan mostly to mow but will have (or at least could have) a 2 acre garden and would like something to use in it. In addition some snow removal may be necessary. The land is relatively flat but there are some rock and sidehill issues. Any suggestions would be very helpful. Obviously price is always an issue.

SuperHank, Stay away, Far,Far,away from Agricat. A relative of mine bought one. It was cute and green/yellow. It is almost, just like a JD. Wellll, thunder NO. This pile of junk needs a stick of dynomite, put to it. All metric, even the hydrolic hoses, try matching to a new one after blowing a hose. Can't get parts out of R.O.China
either. Been waiting for 6 weeks for a preformed O-ring. This $2.00 part has shut down this tractor
completly. Tractor has 85 hrs on it.
Parts and service is the heart of any product.Don't care who makes it!
Good Luck,
John A.

All the small tractors are metric, and a lot of the bigger ones too! Try getting getting a hose for a D3, D4, D5 low drive CAT, they are all metric too. (made in Japan)

IF, i needed a hose for that china tractor, i'd go to a hudraulic shop that specializes in that kind of thing. Mine here, can get ANY fitting you can dream up!

Yep pretty much all of the newer tractors under 50 hp are metric. Made in japan or somewhere else overseas. JD, NH, MF, all of them.

Better try out the Zetor first or simply stay away from it. 2cyl air cooled no live pto and very hard to steer. Other than that they are fun to play with. Crawling over rough terrain and stuff.

The site www. t r a c t o r b y n e t .com would have better resources for you on the topic of foreign compact tractors. Remove the spaces, this site blocks reference to that one....
