Any of you guys been getting those adds that pop up saying to get rid of ths add go to block adds . com or something like message away . com. There seems to be about 10 different companies doing this. What gets me is, they want me to pay for software that will keep them from sending me this stuff. Also they can place stuff on my desk top. Any one have a easy fix for this.

A. Try a different browser that has that capability - there's one called Avant Browser (do a google search to find it). I'm sure there's more.

B. Try a popup killer app - I've tried EMS Free Surfer mk II - there's a free version. It seems to work pretty good.

Dont respond to the popups or click on the "click here to remove your name from the email list" buttons. Have fun.

Chances: The best, easiest, and quickest way to stop pop-up ads is to turn off Javascript in your browser. All popup ads use Javascript to "spawn" and so with Javascript turned off they can't operate. The only downside to this is that some sites require Javascript to operate properly. Also, there are several free popup killer programs out there. I personally wouldn't download any program that used popups to tell me how to get rid of popups--sounds like more of a scam than a solution!

You can use a different browser. Here's a fast free one:

There's also something called "pop-up stopper" that I downloaded free, but haven't bothered to use it.

Happy browsing.
