I have a Super M that has been parked at the fence line for about 18 years and have never been started since. Last weekend my farther and I tried pulling it out of the fence line but were unable to move it. We jacked up the back and found the rear wheels would not spin. I am wondering what I can do to ge them to spin freely so I can pull it where I intend to restore it. Yes, the brake is off and its out of gear. Any help would be great

Thanks, Ryan

Another possibility is the transmission is caught in 2 gears at once. Happens frequently with these tractors when the lower end of the shift lever gets worn. Remove the shift lever (knock out the cross pin in the shifter tower then lift the lever out). Now look down into the shifter tower. For the transmission to be in neutral the slots on all 3 shift rails inside should be aligned and centered in the opening. If slots any are forward or back, use a big screwdriver to pry them back into center position.

More likely however you problem is stuck brakes. You should be able to quickly free them up by unbolting and removing the outer covers. Then give each disk assembly a few smart raps with a brass hammer to break them free. Or go between each friction disc (there's two of them) and the mating brake surfaces with a chisel to separate them.

Good luck - the Super M is a great tractor!!

Could the Cluch and or Flywheel be stuck together? And if so what can I do short of opening the entire engin open?

The clutch and flywheel stuck together wouldn't keep it from moving if it was out of gear, although after 18 years, your clutch and flywheel probably are stuck together. You'll likely find lots of things stuck together after 18 years in the fencerow. Chances are the brakes are seized in it, locking up the rear wheels. Good luck with it, and have fun!

Yes I agree with the other fellow, I just got an H out of the fence row, right wheel moved but left didn't. I rmoved the brakes the wheels turned just fine, so even thought you released the brake they still may be on :o)

When I got my Super H the disc brakes were rusted solid. I had to remove the drums and disc to move it
