Clogged fuel tank outlet on A-C 170

I have a 170 w A-C loader we bought new in 1966. It has never been rained on and has 3100 hours. I had the carb rebuilt last fall but now it won't run faster than idle. I bypassed the fuel line with a gravity lawn mower tank and it runs fine. I cleaned the mesh in the glass sediment bowl but now it won't let enough fuel through to even fill the bowl again. Obviously, the outlet is plugged with dirt or varnish.
Question: what do I have to do? Do I need to remove the whole hood and remove the tank, etc. to fix it or is there an easier way?? Thanks much.

had a 175 diesel that did the same thing allis did a poor job of designing their tank no way to keep things out of the orifice had a dead bug get in mine, quick fix is to blow air backwards ( with cap off), permanent fix
means cleaning out what's in their by any means you can think of.

You may need to remove the whole tank to do a proper cleaning, but I would start by removing the sediment bowl assembly from the tank, and see if you can fix the problem without going any deeper.
Might want to just get a new sediment bowl.

Do you think the sediment bowl nipple which goes into the tank is threaded in? And is there an extention in the tank with another screen? Or does the neck of the sediment bowl just protrude a short distance into the gas tank?

Tolerances under the tank are so tight I don't know if I can get my hands in there to get it out. Had a heck of a time simply getting the sediment bowl off.

I guess that's why they moved the sediment bowl in front of the carb on later models. My 170 still has the shut-off under the tank tho.....and the carb float/valve isn't holding right now so I have to shut off the gas everytime I shut off the tractor, a PITA. I have a D12 that has a "floater" in the tank. It has a rubber hose to the carb that I can pull off and blow back into the tank whenever it acts up. Seems to work for weeks at a time.

Thanks for the help guys. I may replace the copper line and the sediment bowl and replace w a rubber hose and filter just before the carb. What size or number of filter will work that is designed for gravity rather than a fuel pump?

Actually, I am not all that familiar with allis's, I would assume that there is at least some sort of screen which sticks up into the tank, or at least it used to have one, it may have deteriorated by now.
Have you tried taking the line loose at the carburetor, and then with the shut-off open, blow into the line, if indeed it is rust that has clogged things up, you should be able to dislodge it, at least temporarily.
