Reclaimo Filters from my knowledge were supposed to be a filter that was originally advertised as a one time filter. A bypass filter that "reclaimed" the oil. Basically the point is that the only thing that goes bad with oil is that it gets contaminates in it, i.e. carbon, dirt, small amounts of metal, etc. By using the bypass filter it would clean all of that debris out of the oil and make it as good as new. I have read reports of people in Auto Restorer that said that their dad put a Reclaimo on their car in the 50's and they never changed the oil and it was still clean, I can't say for sure , but i have read several good reports on them and nothing bad as of yet. As for me I would like any info you may have on price of such a unit. Might as well try one out to see for myself.

I happen to have a new RECLAIMO filter that possibly dates from the 1950's. I've modified it to work with Amberlite to clean BioDiesel.

There is a set of instructions in the box, so if anybody is interested I could scan them and send a JPG. No charge.

I realize it is 6 months since your posting about reclaimo.
as a 15 year old back in 1940 I worked for a farmer whos tractor was fitted with a reclaimo which used cotton waste for the filter. I would welcome the instruction that you have to revive my memory about its operation.

I have a Reclaimos for sale. I have some that are brand new in the box. I don't know much about the company or what they all made. The ones I have are bypass oil filters.

Are you asking about a remote-mounted oil filter that does micro-filtration? older semi's and heavy equip. used a "Luberfiner" that was plumbed in-line w/the stock filter that got smaller particles out than O.E. filters. Also added about 2gal. of capacity to the system. A good quality filter nowadays is prob. as efficient. If I'm out in left field here, it wouldn't be the first time. Fred

What kind of filters are you asking about ?,air , oil , I personally would not use a reclaimed oil filter. air filters can be cleaned, either by solvents, usually done by a pro, never wash a filter with gas!! (big Boom) blow out with air from the inside out hope this helps..... .Jer
