How many of you all have ever seen a Montgomery Ward tractor? I say one this week up close that is a tricyle type with single front wheel. The tire size on front is something like 6.00-16 or 5.00-16 the rear is 24 something. It had two hand brakes one on each side of you when sitting in seat. I could buy it for $600. Thanks alot

There's a feller around here that takes one on the tractor rides. Its got the 6 cyl Chrysler, runs like top, got a wide front end, and will go about 40 mph. What a ride!! Buy it if its all there. Irv

If any one wants any more information just email me because the people that run this website get made at us discussing selling stuff. Please don't hesitate to email me. I have three tractors as it is and I just need to get them running first before I get another. I have two Case Vac tricyle tractors 1948 and 1949 models and a 1938 Farmall F-14. Thanks alot

Nicholaus,

If you don't buy it for $600 let me know where it's at. I might want to add it to my collection of Wards 2 wheel tractors.

The tractor I was told was actualy a B. F. Avery but the plate on the side says it is a Montgomery Ward tractor. It is in Halls Crossroads which is in East Tennessee. In North Knox County. Right now it doesn't have the hood on or grill or raditor but I was told they were in good shape. Thanks alot

I saw two at auction probably 35 to 40 years ago at a farm sale. My father took me pretty much so I could see one. They generally came as a kit, probably in the 30's. They used a model T Ford engine that the customer supplied(tho I think they later could also be bought with the tractor)
as at that time farmers were in tough shape financially and they were plenty of T's around
for the engine, as most people were going for the new, more comfortable cars (used T's then probably sold for $15 to $25).

In the late 60's, the two tractor's brought somewhere around $200 each. Not sure why they were bought or where they went.

My father at that time told me they worked all right, but were not a tractor engine and didn't have many creature comforts, even for that time.

I remember reading about Monkey Wards selling tractors at one time. If I recall they were built by Graham-Bradley. For $600 I would buy it. They are not common.
